ITINERARY:

DAY 1-April 16, Monday, Departure

Departure from JFK Airport at 6:00 PM through Madrid to Moscow.

Day 2- April 17, Tuesday, Arrival Moscow

Arrival to Moscow Demodedovo airport at 5:15 PM. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3, April 18, Wednesday, Moscow

After breakfast, we will visit Red Square, the center of activity in Moscow. It is surrounded by the Kremlin, the famous onion shaped domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, the GUM Department Store, and the History Museum. You will have time to see the Lenin Mausoleum and take all the photographs you want. You will pass by the Olympic Stadium, the White House, the Bolshoi Theater, the American Embassy and many other famous buildings. Have lunch on Tverskaya (Gorki) St. after lunch your tour continues with a visit to the observation platform on the Vorobyovy Hills, which affords a panoramic view of the city and a chance to shop. Here you will also see the magnificent buildings of the Moscow State University. Dinner and overnight in Moscow

Day 4, April 19, Thursday, Moscow

This morning is the much-awaited tour of the Kremlin. Within its over 60 acres, there are palaces, cathedrals, and towers. You will see the magnificent Ivan the Great Tower and Belfry, the Grand Kremlin Palace, the Palace of Congress, Cathedral Square and Terem Palace as well as the Czar Bell, and Czar Cannon. Your visit includes the Churches of St. Michael the Archangel and the Annunciation with their perfect paintings and icons. Time for lunch and to walk around the Arbat, a pedestrian-only street. In the afternoon you will visit the Tretyakov Gallery, which has an impressive collection of Russian icons and paintings. After dinner depart to the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre or Moscow Circus for an optional spectacular performance. Dinner and overnight in Moscow.

Day 5, April 20, Friday, Moscow, St. Petersburg  

After breakfast, we will take a domestic flight to St. Petersburg. Arrival to St. Petersburg, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. St.Petersburg was built to capture the best of Paris and Venice. Constructed only 300 years old, the city stands on over 100 islands and is linked by more than 300 bridges. We will tour of the city. You will see distinctive and familiar landmarks like the Smolny Convent, the Pushkin Theatre, the grand Kazan Cathedral, and of course the richly gold plated St. Isaac's Cathedral (one of the largest in the world). You will also see the striking "Bronze Horseman" statue of Peter the Great, founder of the city. You will travel along Nevsky Prospekt and see the Winter Palace of Russian Czars and the Palace Square. This evening optional trip to a traditional Russian folk performance.  Dinner and overnight in St. Petersburg.

Day 6, April 21, Saturday, St. Petersburg

After breakfast we will visit the Hermitage Museum, one of the largest art, cultural, and historical museums in the world, located in the winter residence of the Russian Czars. The Hermitage not only has a breathtaking collection, it also is an exquisite building with galleries and rooms that are themselves works of art. In the over 340 rooms of art works, you will be able to see paintings by Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci, Renoir, Monet, Picasso, and hundreds of the greatest artists that ever lived. Dinner and overnight in St. Petersburg.

Day 7, April 22, Sunday, St.Petersburg, Moscow, Madrid

After breakfast some free time for shopping.  After lunch we will go to airport to fly to Moscow to connect our flight to Madrid at 6:05 PM. Arrival to Madrid at 9:15 PM and transfer to your hotel for overnight.

Day 8, April 23, Monday, Madrid, Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast we will drive to Santiago de Compostela. We'll spend the day driving through some of the most beautiful parts of Galicia, seeing mountains and lakes as we go. Arrive in this 3rd most important place of pilgrimage (after Jerusalem and Rome). Dinner and overnight in Santiago de Compostela.

Day 9, April 24, Tuesday, Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Archbishop Palace, the Plaza del Oratorio and Raja Palace as well as celebrate Mass in St. James' Cathedral. The relics of St. James and two disciples lie in a tomb in the crypt under the altar. You'll have personal time before dinner

Day 10, April 25, Wednesday, Santiago de Compostela, Fatima

After breakfast we leave Spain this morning and drive south, crossing into Portugal. Continue to Fatima, celebrating Mass when we arrive and having an orientation of the shrine. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.

Day 11, April 26, Thursday, Fatima, Avila-Madrid

After breakfast,, we will drive for the quiet walled town of Avila. The walls, built in the 1st century with many turrets, surrounds the Cathedral where we'll celebrate Mass, many fine houses and shops, plus the convent of St. Theresa  Continue to Madrid for dinner and overnight.

Day 12, April 27, Friday, Madrid, USA

After breakfast and free time we will drive to airport and leave home at 1:50 PM. Arrival JFK at 4:05 PM
